Join us in making an IMPACT this Giving Tuesday! Our Winter Relief campaign to support the Lakota People of Pine Ridge is now underway!

Beginning on November 28th, Giving Tuesday, and running through the end of the year, December 31, 2023.

Dear One Spirit Supporters,

As we stand on the brink of a new year, we are driven and eager to launch our first-ever OFFICIAL Annual Fundraising Campaign to provide Winter Relief for the Lakota people of Pine Ridge Reservation — a powerful initiative that will allow us to continue making a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.

We need your help to continue our mission of supporting the Lakota people of Pine Ridge with basic necessities, economic and employment development, and cultural preservation. This year, we have amazing impact stories to share with you, showcasing how your support has transformed the lives of those who live on Pine Ridge Reservation.

Your contribution will enable us to reach our goal of $350,000 to cover operational costs for the year ahead.

Standing Strong with the Lakota on Their Journey To Self-Sufficiency

At One Spirit, we firmly believe in the transformative power of collective action and its profound impact on creating positive change. Over the past year, together, we've achieved remarkable milestones, from providing essential resources to vulnerable communities to implementing groundbreaking programs that address pressing social challenges.

On our journey to create self-sufficiency, we work with volunteers and the Lakota people, or oyate, to provide food, firewood, employment and education opportunities, and more. To do this work, we rely on the generosity of donors—people like you.

Your Support Matters

With another winter fast approaching, we’re racing to build support before the cold temperatures get too low and the snow blocks roads on the reservation.

This Giving Tuesday marks the kickoff of our Winter Relief Efforts Annual Campaign, and we invite you to be a cornerstone of hope. Your support is not merely a donation; it's an investment in a brighter future. This year, a significant focus of our campaign is dedicated to providing crucial support for the fierce winter months in South Dakota, particularly for the Lakota people living on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Winter Relief Initiatives

Our focus is on the urgent and basic needs of food and heat during the fierce winter months. We ask you to join us this journey to create self-sufficiency.

With your generosity, together, we can:

Provide Warmth in Winter: Contribute to our Firewood Assistance Programs help to provide Lakota families with the firewood they need to stay warm during the harsh winter months. The Firewood Assistance program not only offers wood to heat homes but also ensures that the wood-burning stoves, which are the primary source of heat for most homes on the reservation, are checked and serviced to prevent potential fire hazards during this time of year.

$200 = 1 Load of Firewood
$700 = Safer Wood-Burning Stove

Fight Hunger: Support our Food Pantries and Distribution Programs, providing essential nourishment to those facing food insecurity in the Lakota communities.

Also, the ROSEBUD SOUP KITCHEN is in need of items for their community. They serve approximately 200 folks on a daily basis. Click here to learn more about their specific needs that can be mailed directly to us.

Spread Holiday Cheer: Sponsor a family from our Holiday Okini list and provide cheer this holiday to a family in need.
