Welcome to the Okini List

Generosity, or wačáŋtognaka, is one of the seven values of the Lakota people.
  
The word Okini means to share, that is the Lakota philosophy. The people listed on Okini list are families in need who don't have the resources to buy necessities.
 
The Okini List gives information on the size of the family, the members living in the home, ages & genders. It also provides specific information about needs such as clothing, household supplies, food, hygiene articles. Families have been ecstatic & grateful when they are chosen.

To sponsor families on the Okini Lists, contact bspeer@nativeprogress.org with the name of the family and the items you'd like to send.

You can support specific families and individuals directly through the requests listed below.

Her adult daughters bed had to be thrown out because of bed bugs so she needs a twin size blow up mattress Margie also needs size 10 tennis shoes. She says she is sorry she asked for so much.
